Iceland to Denmark

Wednesday, September 14

This was another just-get-from-Point A-to-Point B days, so there’s almost nothing to write and nary a photo to view.  Suffice it to say that we’ve flown from what seemed to us like a very early winter in Iceland to Indian Summer in Denmark; the heavy jacket, hats, and gloves have been stowed in the bottom of our suitcases and we’ve thawed out nicely.

We drove southwest from the airport in Copenhagen to Svendborg for one night in order to take a morning ferry to the small island of Aero.  We’ll spend a few hours there, then ferry back and head north in Jutland, the region of Denmark that is “attached” to Germany.

The couple of hours we spent driving here from the airport were a lovely introduction to Denmark – great highways, an 11-mile long bridge connecting eastern and western parts of the country, bucolic country roads, well-tended farms, and lovely small towns.  We’re ready for more!
